2023 Mort Künstler Collectible Ornament
Early Snow
We proudly introduce the Timber Ridge School 28th edition Mort Künstler Collectible Ornament for 2023 titled Early Snow.
About the Painting
The Old West, our mythological and mystical American past, still spreads a charm over the mind. The frontier experience created the American image of self-reliance, and being able to overcome obstacles. After the trails from the cattle country lengthened to Wyoming and Montana, the cowboys learned to prepare for snow, early and late.
Winters were always dangerous for cattle and cowboys. Herds were usually moved into lower pastures in the fall. Occasionally, an early autumn snow caught everyone unprepared, and the cattlemen were compelled to move the herds out of the mountains before the snows deepened.
In the painting the blue-gray tones and the falling snow help to set the mood and tell the story. The sheer beauty of the quiet snow contrasts the imminent danger and urgency the cattlemen feel.
From the School
Timber Ridge School proudly presents limited edition Christmas ornaments featuring the artwork of renowned Civil War artist Mr. Mort Künstler.
Each ornament comes in a presentation box, with green felt backing, green ribbon, a certificate of authenticity and an ornament stand. Timber Ridge School is a licensed residential treatment and accredited educational program serving young men with a history of serious emotional, learning, and behavioral difficulties. As a fundraiser the school creates a Christmas ornament featuring the art of Mort Künstler, which is donated by the artist for this use.
