This female combat veteran from the 4th Infantry Division, deployed in Iraq in 2003 and again in late 2005-06, sits “pulling security” inside the hatch of a Humm-V. Equipped with gloves, body armor, ballistic eye protection, and night vision goggles on her Kevlar helmet, she grips an M240 Machine Gun.
Mort Künstler created the original work to be part of the Middletown, Ohio Veterans Memorial he designed in 2004.
