Mort Künstler’s Comments
This painting captures the lighting effect of the mountains in British Columbia just before dawn. I tramped the streams in waders until I came upon this particular clump of driftwood, which worked perfectly with the painting's focal point, a mountain man whom I visualized as soon as I saw this spot.
