2005 Mort Künstler Collectible Ornament
Janie Corbin and "Old Jack"

This beautiful ornament features Mort Kunstler’s painting Janie Corbin and “Old Jack.” In this scene, Mr. Kunstler captures a side of the mighty “Stonewall” Jackson known only to a few. In 1862-63, Jackson made his headquarters at Moss Neck Plantation on Virginia’s Rappahannock River. The plantation was owned by Richard and Roberta Corbin, who had a young daughter named Janie, known for her friendly, delightful personality. For a fleeting time, Jackson’s inner heart was revealed to all who were in his presence because of his friendship with his young 5-year-old friend.

No more than 7,500 of this tenth in a series of ornaments will be produced. A stand is included with each ornament so that it may be placed on a table or hung on your tree. Each ornament will be shipped with a signed certificate of authenticity and is packed in a green presentation box with black felt backing and finished with green ribbon. A special feature to the ornament is a “spinner” that allows the image to rotate 360 degrees inside the frame.

From the school:
Timber Ridge School serves emotionally disturbed and learning disabled male students between the ages of 11 and 19. Funds for the improvement of campus programs and facilities are raised through the sale of ornaments. Your purchase of Janie Corbin and “Old Jack” will go toward the construction of the school’s new Charles A. Ricketts Memorial Gymnasium. Mr. Kunstler has been a very generous supporter of the school by donating the use of a piece of his artwork for nine of our ten ornaments.
