Virginia's Honored Sons
General Pickett, Gettysburg, July 3, 1863

"Up men, and to your posts" Pickett told his troops as they prepared to step off. Pickett had been wounded a year earlier in The Seven Days Battles, and he and his division had done relatively little fighting since then. In the next hour they would suffer more casualties than in the rest of the war combined.
