“This was one of the most difficult paintings I have done. I found the original blueprints of the West Point at the Engineers Society in New York. My research also took me to the B&O Museum in Baltimore, the Smithsonian Institue, and the site in Charleston. The building in the background still exists, but it has since gone through several additions and has been encompassed into the center of town.”
