Allies Bomb Berlin
March 6, 1944

During World War II, in the first large-scale air attack on the German capital, more than six hundred heavy bombers drop 1,600 tons of bombs on Berlin. There is heavy resistance from German fighter aircraft. U.S. bombers succeed in shooting down more than one hundred sixty.
