The Mayflower Compact


Signing the Mayflower Compact
November 21, 1620

On November 21, 1620, after an arduous two month ocean voyage, the one hundred and one settlers, and the officers and crew of the tiny merchant ship “Mayflower” signed a covenant or “compact” of Government before disembarking. The resulting “Mayflower Compact” was to be the first American “constitution.”
