Engle and Truly

Second Space Shuttle Launch
November 12, 1981

Joe Engle and Richard Truly become the second flight crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia. Truly later becomes NASA’s Associate Administrator for Space Flight in 1986. Engle goes on to become Commander of the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1985 and consults for the Air National Guard.
