January 16, 1969 Staff Sgt. Drew Dix was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for heroic action against the Vietcong. During this action he personally was responsible for killing fourteen of the enemy in action, and perhaps as many as two dozen more, while capturing many prisoners and weapons and rescuing fourteen civilians. |
