The Hindenburg

The movie was released in 1975 and was based on the last flight and ultimate crash of the German zeppelin in Lakehurst, New Jersey on May 6, 1937. The painting was used for an advertising campaign worldwide and helped make it a huge box office hit. It starred George C. Scott, Anne Bancroft, Burgess Meredith, Charles Durning and Gig Young and was directed by Robert Wise.
