Avro

...Mort Künstler did this painting of the Avro Triplane that first flew in 1909?

Künstler painted it in1965 as one of a series of six paintings of early fabulous flying machines! Done for Renwal Products, this was used for the hobby kit box cover and was one of the first English planes. Built by Alliot Vernon Roe, the planes created by A. V. Roe were almost immediately called "Avros." The company progressed to become England's premier aircraft manufacturer producing the famous Avro Lancaster bombers of WW II and the giant delta winged Vulcan jet!
