A.P. Hill’s Attack at Bristoe Station

The two Southern brigades were overwhelmed by three entrenched Northern divisions. The next day, as Generals Lee and Hill were riding over the scarred battlefield, Lee answered Hill’s explanation of what had happened. “Well, well, General, bury these poor men, and let us say no more about it.”
