Glory Raises Nearly
$100K for Red Cross
|
Mort Künstler's fund-raising drive for the
American Red Cross has ended triumphantly. Thanks to generous
support from throughout the nation - and even from overseas
- the Old Glory program raised nearly $100,000 for
the American Red Cross disaster relief effort in the wake
of September 11.
It did so by selling almost 4,000 copies of the limited
edition fine art print Old Glory - the popular Mort
Künstler painting of the American flag. All revenues from
the print went to the American Red Cross. Mr. Künstler donated
all the prints, his fine art print publisher, American Spirit
Publishing, donated all packaging and shipping costs, while
volunteers helped pack print orders.
"I am just elated," says Künstler. "What a special pleasure
it is to be able to help out at a time like this. The American
Red Cross is so grateful to everyone who bought the print
and helped with this project - and so am I. We thank everyone
for making this disaster relief effort so successful.
