This painting was done for the February 1964 cover of For Men Only magazine, vol. 11, no. 2. It illustrated the story Nazi Snatching Jumping Wildman of the 82nd Airborne by Bill Francois.

'The 82nd Airborne action was immortalized in the movie “The Longest Day.” Red Buttons was the actor who ended up hanging from the church steeple in the movie. This painting has been hanging in my studio for decades! – Mort Künstler
